Check the availability of web servers.

Available is a simple tool with which you can check at any time the availability of any web server. The file that's offered here is totally free to download, and is in Java. However, it's also distributed as an Applet.

The operation of Available is very simple. Its job is to make calls to port 7. If this fails, it will make them to port 80 of the server's main HTML page. In this way, it'll tell you if the server is available or not. In addition, Available will provide the IP address of the host, or the host of the IP.

NOTE: If you wish, from the author's website you can get the applet for Available that supports your browser, requiring no installation.
